n Instantaneous and step less dynamic reactive power compensation (power factor or voltage control) and harmonics negation
Low voltage statcom (SVG) and power filter helps improve power quality, reduce power losses and lowers environmental impact whilst maintain set point power factor or voltage control. The result is compliance with regulations, increased electrical system capacity, and reduction in maintenance costs.
Instantaneous (<1 cycle response time), dynamic and step less reactive power compensation based on voltage sourced convertor (VSC) power electronics technology. Operates dynamically to compensate fast varying capacitive, inductive, unbalanced loads and removal of system harmonics.
Voltage source convertors produces a three phase AC voltage from a DC voltage source, the pulse width modulated AC voltage is coupled to the source voltage by a reactor. By varying the magnitude of the VSC terminal voltage reactive power exchange takes place between the VSC and the AC source (grid supply). If the magnitude of VSC is more than the AC source voltage, capacitive current flows from the source to VSC and the LV statcom generates capacitive reactive power. If the magnitude of the VSC is less then the AC source voltage, inductive current flows from the AC source and the LV statcom produces inductive reactive power.
LV statcom compensates negative sequence currents caused by unbalanced loads and the source will be totally relieved of from negative sequence currents and reactive power resulting in balanced flow of real current in all three phases.

Modular Construction
LV statcom is available in wall or floor mounted units.
Wall mounted units are available in capacities up to 100KVAR per unit. Additional units up to a total of 12 units can be added operating as slaves from a unit dedicated as a master by means of simple configuration of the the menu driven controller.
Floor mounted cabinets are our unique modular construction with rack mounted power modules that are “plug in”. No additional hardware or software changes are required to add or remove power modules. Power modules are available in 33KVAR or 100KVAR modules, six units of 33KVAR or three 100KVAR modules can be fitted to a single floor standing cabinet. Up to 12
power modules are operated from a single control unit offering capacity of 366KVAR (33kvar power module) and 1200KVAR (100KVAR power module). If further capacity is required up to 12 units can be simply configured as master/ slave units.
Failure of any module will not affect the overall operation of the LV statcom, unit will continue to operate as normal with reduced capacity of the failed unit.
Individual module status data and system data is displayed in the HMI screen. Advanced automatic soft start features make operation fully standalone and automatic. If grid supply fails the unit will start normal operation automatically when the grid supply returns and conditions are normal.
Resources of the LV statcom can be allocated on a priority basis between power factor control and harmonics negation or voltage control and harmonics negations
